Domestication Flow Standards
Scope
These standards explain how to use the rules for both states when an LLC or corporation moves through statutory domestication or conversion, or through a merger. The available route depends on the entity and the two states.
Route Framework
First determine which route applies to the entity and the two states. The route determines which plan, approval, and filing rules must be checked. The applicable state pages identify the requirements for each route; this page does not supply a nationwide checklist.
Use Both States’ Requirements
Read the current state’s outbound requirements and the destination state’s inbound requirements together. A rule on one state’s page does not apply nationwide. Each reviewed state page identifies its actual requirements, sources, and review date. A document’s own requirements belong on its Document Standards page.
